A game that follows traditional poker rules regarding hand formations, except that an added joker is played as wild, and special rules pertain to certain hands because of the wild joker.

Players start off with $5000 credits and choose to raise or lower their bets from one to five coins of 25c each using the appropriate buttons. A highlighted paytable column corresponds to the player's bet. The deal button is clicked a second time to have the final hand dealt and the winnings are displayed in the highlighted paytable column.
Besides regular poker hands, Jokers Wild also has special hands that should be noted:
- All five cards that are either the same value or constitute a joker is known as "five of a kind".
- A royal straight flush that is completed by a joker is known as a "royal flush".
- A royal flush without using the joker is known as "a natural royal flush".
If the video poker players win, they are offered a double up feature to double their winnings in the game, double half, or collect their winnings.
