Sportech Penn National Sign Mobile Online Gambling Deal

The well established firm Penn National Gaming, Inc. an operator of casinos and racetracks, based in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania USA has decided to use Sportech Racing and Digital to supply Penn National Gaming with internet and mobile solutions for pari-mutuel betting services. Penn National Gaming, through its subsidiaries, owns, operates or has ownership interests in gaming and racing facilities with a focus on slot machine entertainment. The Company presently operates twenty-seven facilities in seventeen jurisdictions, including Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Maine, Massachusetts, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, West Virginia, and Ontario Canada.

Sportech Racing and Digital is the largest international provider of pari-mutuel systems and services, and the division provides the software, hardware, and services that facilitate pool/tote betting for a global customer base of licensed racing and betting operators.  The Sportech Racing and Digital technology, is designed to support high-volume, critical financial transaction processing and is deployed throughout for racetracks, off-track betting networks, online wagering providers and casinos in various international jurisdictions. With this deal Sportech will provide a G4 framework for internet betting, as well as the Digital Link application for mobile betting including other services such as call centre betting, customer and technical support.

Penn National Gaming’s Vice president in charge of racing, Chris McErlean, commented on the arrangement, “We sought to offer our current and future players a satisfying and immersive betting experience, with accounts and interfaces that move seamlessly between brick-and-mortar and digital,” McErlean, added, “The new G4 website and Digital Link mobile, in concert with the land-based services Sportech already provides, will deliver this to our players.”

The President of Sportech Racing and Digital, Andrew Gaughan, also said,  “We are very pleased to expand our business relationship with Penn National Gaming, the largest owner and operator of racetrack and associated betting facilities in the USA.”
