In breaking news that has come as a complete surprise to analysts and those close to the online poker industry Bovada Poker has been acquired by Ignition Casino. An e-mail to customers was sent by Bovada explaining  the withdrawal process requiring clients to transfer their accounts by September 30, 2016. After this date, poker at Bovada will no longer be available. However access to Bovada’s sportsbook, casino and racebook products is still there for customer form the USA.

Bovada is the world’s largest offshore poker site that accepts U.S. customers, but that has now changed with the purchase by Ignition Casino. Currently Bovada and Bodog share the same online poker pool and it appears that this arrangement will continue. The statement from the company says that “Ignition Casino has acquired full ownership and proprietary rights of the Bovada poker business.”

Bovada Poker has been doing well, comfortable as the third largest poker room on the internet in terms of cash game traffic.
