ANOTHER MOBILE GAMING CONTENDER
Abiro throws its hat into the ring
Another competitor has entered the mobile gambling lists with the announcement that Abiro, a provider of mobile multimedia and news services, has launched a mobile casino with a number of unique features.
The new product joins Abiro's existing mobile-related services. 'Mobile Fun' provides a very broad spectrum of ringtones, pictures, themes, games and videos to enhance the phone experience, while 'Mobile News' is a blog-like news service commenting on trends and other phenomena within the mobile phone industry.
This service is a partnership between Abiro and a UK company whose name is becoming increasingly familiar, MobVision and is currently only available in the UK. The makers plan to apply rigorous controls of age (18+ only), daily payments (max GBP15/day) and fraud.
Games are played on a mobile phone, and to get started a free-of-charge Java application is downloaded to the phone either via WAP or ordered via SMS. The user can choose from a selection of 6 casino games: Nudge7, Sunset Slots, Roulette, Hawaii Hi-Lo, Big Apple Blackjack and Pirate Poker.
Other unique features include: easy to use, Nintendo-style one-button play, games are not lost if the connection is interrupted, there is extensive customer support and 90 percent average payouts and a hit rate as high as 1 in 3, claims the prss release.
