The Aberdeen father-of-three
pocketed GBP 743,760.57 on Ladbrokes' Major Millions online game in the biggest
payout on a single bet that the gambling group has paid.
"I sat staring
at the screen thinking it must be a mistake," said a bemused Ted. "I
stumbled into bed and wondered whether to tell my wife - but she was on early
shift the next day so I decided not to wake her. I lay awake all night."
The player told media that he will not be giving up his job as head of the
porters' department at the city's hospital, but that he would be giving a massive
party for family and friends. But he is hoping to buy his wife and fellow porter
Kathie, 46, a new car.
