GTECH Extends Deal with The Beijing Welfare Lottery Center

The Asian online gambling market, by all estimations has the largest untapped potential in the world. The Chinese government is administering the whole process with a strong hand that will keep online gambling out of main land China for years to come. The methods currently in place to keep citizens on their best behaviour seem to be working well. China does however let its people buy lottery tickets whose proceeds go to organizations that benefit the people who need help the most.

The Beijing Welfare Lottery Center is one such group that provides this outlet. Lottery technology provider GTECH has once again been selected to bring the newest tech to the country. Since the year 2000 GTECH has been working with the Center and has renewed their contract for an additional three years with a possible options for three one-year extensions of the deal. GTECH will supply the Beijing Welfare Lottery Center with a new online lottery central system, 1,500 new Altura lottery terminals, game design, marketing consultation and software support. The deal expires Dec. 31, 2015. Extending the offering to citizens GTECH will also launch a pilot program under which certain Beijing Welfare Lottery Center retailers will offer customers two mobile lottery games via a GTECH-powered Android application.
