Mobile everything is the name of today’s internet world. There is nothing like having your favourite entertainment close at hand just about wherever you may be. Sony Ericsson has announced the Xperia Play smartphone launch scheduled for Feb 13, 2011 at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Xperia Play offers a 4 inch touchscreen, a 5-megapixel camera at the rear that is capable of capturing HD video. Other features include WiFi, Bluetooth and 512 MG of RAM, and a GPS. The slide out gaming keypad is the most unique part of the new phone or what some are calling a mini console.

The powerful little gaming device is running on the Google Android 2.3 Ginergerbread OS powered by a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and Adreno 205 GPU. Impressive qualifications and coming from Sony Ericsson this phone will perform well under all conditions. A Playstation Game Suite will be available as well as the Android Marketplace for content and applications. The firm expects to have the mobile gaming smart phones on the market within the month.

Mobile applications for online gambling have been launched for use on the Android 2.3 platform. The firms that have done so now have an interesting market to target. This new device may very well be a new outlet for operators of mobile casinos and poker rooms to be innovative and attract a larger audience.
