Zynga Positioning For the American Online Poker Market

The market for online poker worldwide is astronomical and one poker room that beats out all the rest in the Zynga Poker Room. More than 35 million people play Zynga Poker every month, making it the world’s largest poker site by far. Poker was Zynga’s first online game, and still holds the number one spot among the other Facebook games such as CityVille, FarmVille and Mafia Wars.

As big gambling operators in the USA look to the other big online gambling operators in Europe for strategic alliances should online poker ever come back to America they overlook the obvious possibility that Zynga may be a contender in the huge North American poker player pool.
The firm has plans and is moving forward on them at a rapid pace.It bought out the Texas based firm MarketZero, the developer of poker tracking site PokerTableRatings. Zynga took on the company’s entire 16 person team to work on redesigning the Zynga Poker offering. Zynga also held its first PokerCon, a two-day poker convention at the Palms Casino in Las Vegas.

Zynga is beginning to branch out beyond Google and Facebook with its very own  independent gaming network called Zynga Direct, a process which has been in development for the last couple of years. Zynga has gone from a minor player in the world of social gaming to a major force that is touching all the bases in just five years. The company has the ability when it comes to making money with a valuation of $15-to-$20 billion. Vegas casino operators should be taking a closer look at the potential the Zynga model has, what with its availability on Android and iPhone platforms and its vast connectivity pool of poker players already looking for a hand. Zynga could scoop the market and slide right up the middle as the site to go to should American politicians find the path to legalization of online poker in their country.
