Digipass 260 designed to protect and verify player ID
Nasdaq-listed Vasco Data Security, an international e-commerce security products
specialist has been commissioned to supply a sophisticated identification measure
branded Digipass 260 to Swedish owned but UK based betting exchange Redbet.com.
This is the first use of the product in the online gambling environment, and the
Swedish market has been chosen due to its high Internet penetration to premier
the security measure. Digipass 260 is a high portability, PIN protected device
offering advanced one-time password and e-signature facilities.
"Security and confidentiality are crucial in our business," explained
Joel Jacobson, co-founder of Redbet. "We opted for Vasco because of its experience
in the financial sector. Redbet now brings banking level security to the online
betting industry."
Johan Henrikson, speaking for the supplier said that Digipass has been widely
used by Swedish financial institutions since the mid-Nineties. "We believe
that its strong authentication will be as successful in the online betting industry,"
he concluded.

Betting exchange Redbet has Swedish roots and was founded in 2002 going online
operationally in 2004. It currently runs sports, casino and poker betting activities
and holds a UK bookmaker license, with offices in London. The company levies a
3 percent commission charge on the net winnings of its players.
