PLAYTECH IPO PUBLICITY PERSISTS
Turnkey online casino software provider remains the subject of speculation
- or is this prepping the market?
Spokesmen from the turnkey online casino software provider Playtech have been
adamant that there are no immediate plans to list the company on the London stock
exchange, yet the rumours persist - often on Playtech-heavy online casino portals.
The same basic story was up at several sites this week - Playtech "may"
be about list despite denials; it "could" be worth $900 million; it
is causing "a buzz" or "feverish interest" in the industry;
it has engaged Collins Stewart to advise it on a listing "in the near future,"
followed by positive remarks about the company.
All curiously similar and almost as if originating from the same script...yet
Playtech has not issued anything in a public sense to confirm it.
The sceptical might suggest that it's Playtech-inspired and designed to keep the
pot boiling with this continued activity, or it could be genuine speculation.
But who knows?
What is certain is that official Playtech spokesmen have said that there are no
plans for a listing before 2006. But it only takes another press release to overturn
that...
