UNHAPPY SEQUEL TO ONLINE POKER ROOM POKERSHARE DEBACLE
Share-in-our-success poker site closed
Further to our Online-Casinos.com & InfoPowa reports last week, Pokershare has now emailed all players outside North America that they will be shutting their doors at 9am ET on November 14.
Pokershare was an online poker operation that promised to give players a share in its success and achieved wide publicity as a result . Last week it appeared to be in trouble amid reports that Toronto based Excapsa, which controlled the network on which it operated had closed its accounts and was paying players out.
Pokershare had only been online for 2 months, and widespread rumour continues to suggest that more established sites on the network - specifically Ultimate Bet - had complained about its success in attracting players away. Excapsa remained silent on the issue despite our requests for comment.
Pokershare offered a 40 percent share of their profits and allowed rakeback affiliates, meaning that players could get a healthy rakeback (in many cases over 30 percent) too.
Unconfirmed reports suggest that on November 1, Excapsa closed all Pokershare accounts on the network, and informed each member via e-mail. They staffed their office 24/7 to handle questions and quickly shipped out all refunds. It is not known whether Pokershare was consulted before the action was taken.
