2006 CANADIAN OPEN POKER CHAMPIONSHIP DETAILS ANNOUNCED
Heads up format for 128 players
Card Player reported details for the 2006 Canadian Poker Championship this week.
The head-ups event, which will be filmed and televised, will take place March 8-12 at the Stampede Casino in Calgary, Alberta. The CDN$5,000 buy-in no-limit hold’em tournament will be limited to 128 players, who will vie for the top prize of CDN $250,000. The runner up will receive CDN$125,000.
Qualifying satellites will be held during January and February at casinos in several Canadian cities and at the Stampede Casino the week before the tournament starts. Details about when and where the satellites will take place, as well as when and where the show will be broadcast, haven’t been finalized and will be announced at a later date.
