SOUTH AFRICA LAND CASINOS SIGN UP TO NEW CODE

With online gambling under consideration, this could be a valuable platform

South African newspapers are reporting on a new code of practice introduced to the country's rapidly growing casino sector, where represenatatives of the top land casinos have signed it's first-ever national gambling industry code of conduct, making it one of the first globally to do so outside the US.

South Africa's listed gaming groups include Sun International, Gold Reef Casino Resorts, and Peermont Global.

Announcing the code of conduct in Cape Town at the weekend, Casino Association (CASA) chairperson Peter Bacon said that it would bind all casinos in South Africa to "demanding protocols" designed to promote a culture of responsible gambling in the country.

Casa represents South Africa's licensed casino industry, where in just eight years, it has gernerated more than Rands 12-billion in new investment in all nine provinces, adding more than Rands 36-billion to GDP in terms of economic multipliers.
