DANISH TV2 GOES FOR SKILLJAM SKILL GAMES
Skill gaming platform to be supplied for TV2 Denmark A/S
FUN Technologies plc has announced another successful deal for its wholly owned subsidiary, SkillJam EU Limited. The company has signed an agreement to develop a private-label skill-gaming platform for TV2 Denmark A/S, Denmark's leading commercial television organisation.
FUNtech says that TV2 is the largest commercial broadcaster in Denmark, as well as one of the biggest Internet portals. SkillJam will have exclusive access to create, operate and support a platform that will be integrated into TV2's existing Danish gaming channel, "TV2 Spil" with one of the largest gaming communities in Denmark.
The two-year deal will offer TV2 audiences the chance to play tournament-style online games for cash and prizes, as well as gaming downloads and subscriptions.
TV2 will join other major companies like AOL, MSN's Zone.com and Real Networks in a broad network of partner destination sites in the US and Europe.
Lorne Abony, CEO of FUN Technologies, said, "This exciting continental European deal is in keeping with our stated goals of expanding globally, and presents both FUN and TV2 with an extraordinary opportunity. TV2 has tremendous media reach throughout Denmark, and has developed one of the largest online gaming communities in the region."
Martin Sandvad, Head of Games at TV2, commented, "FUN Technologies is a strong partner for us, and we are pleased to be working with its gaming division, SkillJam, to offer our customers the excitement and entertainment of tournament-based skill games."
