Bandits who robbed a casino in Berlin recently got away with a substantial sum of money,$329,000 or more it is reported. The March 6 robbery of the European Poker Tour event was televised to millions and was definitely almost as dramatic a scene as the poker games going on. German police have in custody one Ahmad el-Awayti who has been charged with the robbery. He is the second suspect to be arrested in the case. Police released the first man after the suspect gave them a credible alibi, but they are now thinking the first suspect was indeed connected to the robbery. Someone turned themselves in to the police recently, taking responsibility along with three accomplices hit the European Poker tour. The robber was not identified but the names and photos of his accomplices were; Ahmad el-Awayti, Jihad Chetwie, and Mustafa Ucarkus. Rosenthaler Square was the location of the surrender, where Ahmad el-Awayti, gave himself up to the German authorities stating, “I believe you are looking for me.” The others are still on the lamb their whereabouts unknown. One of them, Mustafa Ucarkus is considered the most violent of the group having served a time in prison for grievous bodily harm, and has only been out of the prison for less than a year. The first suspect known to police as Mohammed B, who was released with the alibi, had the names of the possible suspects with him. International arrest warrants have been issued for 20 year old Mustafa Ucarkus and Jihad Chetwie who is only 19 years old. The investigators think they may have left Germany, to possibly Turkey where it is believed they may have family and friends. Both are considered dangerous and should not be approached. There was no mention of the missing money or the whereabouts of Mohammed B.
