CARD PLAYER MAGAZINE JOINS THE FIGHT AGAINST ONLINE GAMBLING PROHIBITION

Proposed banning legislation could effect the online poker industry, says magazine's chairman.

Card Player Magazine in the USA has come out strongly against attempts by American politicians to prohibit online poker, and this week the publication launched an initiative to assist US players to have their say with their political representatives.

Card Player chairman Barry Shulman says that the re-introduction of the "Internet Gambling Prohibition Act" by US Congressmen Rick Boucher (R-VA) and Bob Goodlatte (D-VA) once again puts online poker under attack from legislators who don't believe the game should be considered legal.

"We believe it is crucial that players and fans have a voice that can be heard," says Shulman. "To facilitate that, Card Player is providing an online system where users can send letters to their appropriate Congresspersons to speak out against this legislation."

Contact is made easy for players, who have only to enter name, address, and zip code on an appropriate letter that the magazine will ensure is delivered.
