Civil Court case in Rome has a positive outcome for Astrabet

Maltese online gaming company, Astrabet has successfully campaigned to re-establish their service connection in Italy after a decree banning online gambling sites from Italian ISPs was made in February by the Italian authorities.

Astrabet's success sets a useful legal precedent because the company fought their case in the Civil Court in Rome and received a ruling in their favour, with the Court ordering that their connection be reinstated with immediate effect.

At present, the decision applies solely to Astrabet as they were the only company to challenge the ruling, but with many online gaming companies licensed in Malta, this ruling could result in group or class actions being assembled with a view to securing a total re-establishment of all Malta-Italy gaming services.
