MICROGAMING ONLINE CASINO PROGRESSIVE HITS LANDMARK $200 MILLION PAYOUT TOTAL

Chinese online casino player hits the historic jackpot

One very lucky Chinese player took the Microgaming Progressive Network total payout to over $200 million this week when he hit a $80,315.39 jackpot on the Treasure Nile progressive slot.

The win made history for the network and comes at a time when the company is gearing up for a new stage of growth, signalled through its recently announced plans to consolidate all its brands under the Microgaming name.

Powered by Microgaming, nearly 6,000 winners have celebrated wins through the progressive network during the three year period since it launched, including Amanda R from Plymouth, who only last month became one of the UK’s highest online gaming Jackpot winners, taking home a cool $1,427,369.74. In October 2005 alone, $4.9 million was paid out to 100 winners.

Microgaming’s progressive network is not only the original progressive network on the Internet - it is also the largest, with the largest jackpots to date.

Roger Raatgever, CEO, Microgaming comments: “Reaching $200 million in payouts is a true landmark moment in the life of online gaming, but to reach it in three short years is remarkable.

"I think it’s fair to say that this serves as testament to our commitment to provide the best and most rewarding playing experiences on the web. But, it doesn’t stop
there. With over 60 new games earmarked for release this year alone, we believe it won’t be long before we celebrate reaching the $300 million mark.”

Microgaming’s progressive network has developed a reputation for generating overnight millionaires, creating eight to date. The $200 million total equates to
an average of $18,000 being paid out each day since launch. All the jackpots won through the casinos that provide the progressive games are offered in
full, direct cash payments.

Microgaming was in the news for another reason this week, too. The company was issued with a Certificate of Prior Approval under the stringent requirements for fairness of the Alderney Gambling Control Commission , which means that the software is regarded as a suitable platform provider for current or prospective Alderney licensees.

The pre-approval process enables operators wishing to relocate to the Alderney jurisdiction cam move more quickly through that aspect of the AGCC's careful due diligence process.

The certification process includes a wideranging inspection and declaration process, together with probity checks and investigations.

Microgaming passed similarly tough eCOGRA inspections some three years ago.
