Focus on online casino gambling portal and search engine operations

The latest interim results released by Justin Drummond, CEO of the UK based gambling group Gaming Corporation will please investors, with an after tax profit of GBP 1.3 million - a big improvement on last years comparable figures which returned a loss of GBP 100 000. Gross profit was reported as GBP 2.3 million, an increase of 215 percent.

The online casino gambling group has been very active on the acquisition trail over the past two years, snapping up Got2Bet and Gambling.com. It also supplies mobile games to the Orange network's UK operations and recently signed a contract with Vodafone to launch its mobile gaming service.

During the period covered by the report, the company appointed Paul Tuson as group finance director, and launched a glossy magazine for Gambling.com.

Drummond's take on the results: "Gaming Corp's half-year performance has been encouraging, endorsing our strategy of focusing on our highly profitable portal and search engine operations. The rapid pace of development has continued in 2006. The group has launched its syndicated search business with the Gambling.co.uk network and made significant progress in the mobile gaming division through a partnership deal with Vodafone."
