CRIBBAGE GOES ONLINE
GameColony.com partners with American Cribbage Congress on Internet Cribbage
Games and Tournaments
This week saw an old game take on a new Internet face when online skill gaming
provider Game Colony.com and The American Cribbage Congress agreed
to an exclusive alliance aimed at providing a fun and fair place to play Cribbage
online and to compete in online tournaments.
Under the terms of the deal, GameColony.com will provide co-branded online gaming
content to ACC, and the two firms will share the revenues generated from hosting
online matches and tournaments.
ACC previously worked with Microsoft Zone, which discontinued its online
Cribbage this June.
Robert Milk, ACC Internet Commissioner, says that his players require quality,
security, integrity and reliability in the robust, round-the-clock, competitive
and fun environment which Game Colony provides.
Cribbage will join other skill-based board games and card games on the site. The
games were developed with the latest Sun Microsystems' Java technology, which
allows players to launch the games from most Internet browsers from either standard
Intel-based PCs or Apple's Macintosh or Linux platforms in just a few seconds.
GameColony.com acts as an independent tournament host and leaves the outcome of
every game in the players' hands. Participants never play against 'the house'
and success is based on skilled performance.
