ECOGRA CEO ON MONTREAL RADIO

Telling Canadians about protecting the players, regulation and standards

The popular Montreal Radio 940 interviewed the CEO of eCommerce and Online Gaming Regulation and Assurance CEO Andrew Beveridge this week in a boost for the online gaming standards authority.

Beveridge explained the goals of the body, which currently oversees 85 leading online casino and poker room brands, as primarily to protect the player through the achievement of superior standards of efficiency and conduct at its "Play It Safe" seal venues.

"We have over 100 independently enforced requirements to which our seal operations must comply," said Beveridge.

"These encompass everything from fast and trouble free payouts and courteous 24 hour customer service to fair gaming; responsible gaming conduct and privacy of information to precautions required by international anti-money laundering authorities."

Beveridge told the interviewer that the online gambling industry continued to enjoy phenomenal growth with annual revenues currently estimated at $12 billion, and predictions that this would rise to $24 billion by 2010.
