Netcetera to open major facility on the Isle of Man Freeport
One of Europe's top web hosting companies, with clients in over 60 countries Netcetera is to open the Isle of Man's largest data centre facility in the Ballasalla Freeport, near Ronaldsway Airport in September this year.
Announcing the development, Netcetera managing director Peter Skelton said: "We are pleased to offer Isle of Man businesses a new choice in hosting services by opening the Island's most advanced and cost-effective facilities for housing IT infrastructure. For 10 years we've been providing a customer-focused and highly responsive service to Europe's leading companies, and now Isle of Man companies can benefit from the cost effectiveness of our technology and services."
Netcetera's new data centre boasts more than 700 rack hosting capacity (approximately 28 000 servers) and offers a comprehensive range of Internet services. The new facility features state-of-the-art infrastructure that includes scalable and redundant power and cooling; full fire protection systems; 24x7x365 technical support; high levels of security and a controlled environment - from a 1u shelf to private partitioned areas.
The Netcetera facility represents a GBP 10 million investment in the Isle of Man, and is the company's first data centre to be located on the island.
