LETTERMAN CLASSIC - BILL HR 4411
Top US talkshow host and the vote against online gambling
With his unique brand of often sardonic humour, the famous American talkshow host David Letterman had this to say in his monologue on the anti-online gambling vote in the House of Representatives this week:
"Congress has just acted to ban internet gambling...yep, they're gonna shut down internet gambling...After that, they may look into this North Korea thing...but for now, it's full speed ahead on the internet gambling prohibition."
His sentiments will be echoed by many who are irritated by the inequities inherent in the Goodlatte-Leach HR 4411 Bill, the unsubstantiated allegations made against the industry by some US politicians and the political maneuvering that enabled them to get this proposal on the floor of the House at all.
