NEVADA HANDHELDS COULD BE POWERED BY PROGRESSIVE GAMING
Cantor Gaming and Progressive sign pact to provide mobile gambling devices for use on Nevada land casino properties
It looks as if an alliance between Cantor Gaming and Progressive Gaming could be powering at least some of the handhelds that land casino gamblers will be using on Nevada land premises in the near future following approval of the concept by Nevada legislative and gaming authorities.
Cantor was active in lobbying for the services over the past 18 months or more.
The two companies have entered into a game licensing agreement and are working on another agreement regarding sports betting systems. Under the terms of the gaming licensing agreement, Progressive casino games will be available on Cantor mobile gaming units for "on premises" use in Nevada terrestrial casinos.
Once negotiations on the second agreement have been concluded, Progressive's RapidBetLive sports wagering system will be incorporated.
"We are very excited to partner with Cantor Gaming," said Progressive Gaming CEO Russ McMeekin. "They are the undisputed global leaders in secure financial transactions on mobile devices and [the company] is at the forefront of progress toward making mobile gaming a reality in Nevada."
