PLAYER MERCHANDISING BANNED AT WSOP MAIN EVENT

15 minute delay as players heed "all change" call

The start of the eagerly anticipated main event at the World Series of Poker in Vegas was briefly delayed Friday when officials from the tournament directorate enforced a ban on players wearing .com sponsored advertising on caps and shirts.

The $10 000 buy-in No-Limit Texas Hold 'Em event that will pay the winner a $10 million or more top prize has attracted thousands of entrants, some of whom have qualified online at Internet poker sites offering WSOP final seats as prizes.

Players were given time to remove or cover up the offending items, and complied without incident.
