MAIN EVENT FIELD NOW DOWN TO 1139
After Thursday's rest, the action starts again today (Friday)
"The Meat Grinder" main event of the World Series of Poker has now eliminated all but 1 139 of the starting field of 8 773 players, 270 of them women, and after Thursday's rest day break the action starts again at noon Vegas time Friday.
For the first time since the beginning of the main event, the players will be playing under one roof, battling to reach a final table scheduled for Thursday, August 10th.
Top chip count is Dmitri Nobles on 549 200, well ahead of his nearest rival Yuriy Kozinskiy who has 443 300. Big name player Daniel Negreanu is at number six with 331 000. Many of the better known players have fallen by the wayside, but there is still plenty of talent and the promise of great displays of skill lies ahead.
