Zynga Launches Online Bingo Amid Controversy Over Creativity

A lot of people like to play Bingo so Zynga which announced its plan to launch the Zynga Bingo game on the internet last October has finally done so. The beta release is the first of an expected array of gambling type games for the Zynga consumer within the new Zynga Casino offering.

Players of the new game will be allowed six cards at the same time in different themed rooms socially the game can be played in real time with other participants on Facebook. A statement released by the Zynga people says temporarily they are, “only letting a limited number of people into the game to make sure our players are getting a primo, Zynga Bingo experience, before officially open the floodgates.”

Zynga is been lashed for its flagrant use of other designers work and creativity. Zynga opened a can of worms recently with the launch of the iOS platform game Dream Heights which a lot of players say is so similar to the iPhone game of the year Tiny Tower. The designers of Tiny Tower NimbleBit were quick to respond to the obvious copy which the three designers from NimbleBit by sarcastically congratulating Zynga for its creative launch of the Dream Heights version of Tiny Tower.

Zynga is known for the use and abuse of other peoples ideas and inspiration. The company had to fork over a mere 7 million dollars to Mafia Wars inventor David Maestria in 2009 when Zynga used his creative energy when they launch their own version of Mafia Wars on the net. Zynga CEO Mark Pincus is said to have ordered its programmers to copy the competition and to disregard innovation.
Paul Tassi a writer for the Forbes magazine has called the Zynga company, “a creatively, and I would argue morally, bankrupt company, and the sooner investors realize this, the faster they can fade from prominence.” The old saying you can fool some of the people some of the time but you can’t fool all of the people all of the time seems appropriate here.
