HIGH FLYERS LOG ON FOR AIRLINE POKER
Sharpen your skills on those Delta flights
Delta Airlines has made those long, boring coast-to-coast flights a lot more interesting with the introduction of Texas Hold 'Em poker to the on-demand digital entertainment at every seat.
The game will be available on flights of more than 1 750 miles or 4 hours duration, staring with journeys from New York's JFK airport and Atlanta to cities such as Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and Seattle.
"Our focus for this industry-leading service is on the highest-volume transcontinental markets from Atlanta and New York City where Delta is a major competitor for long-haul customer loyalty," said Jim Whitehurst, Delta chief operating officer.
"Improvements to our domestic product complement our international growth and the overall transformation of our network. Going forward, this new service will also be available to customers flying from Florida to the West Coast, as well as on many of our overseas routes, as we continue making improvements to our international BusinessElite and international coach class products."
Delta expects to have all flights from JFK to the west coast outfitted with the on-demand service by the end of November. On the company's Web site, a TV icon next to flights will show customers which flights provide the on-demand digital entertainment service.
