MORE OPERATORS FOR MICROGAMING
16 new poker and casino operations sign up in the first 9 months of 2006
Top online gambling turnkey provider Microgaming has revealed that it has signed up an unprecedented number of new operators for the year so far. In what is seen as a potentially record breaking year, the Isle of Man registered company has added 16 new poker and casino operations to its portfolio during the first nine months of 2006 alone.
Of the 16 new additions, details of only nine have been released to date, with announcements for the remaining seven expected soon.
Those that have gone live are: Atlas - BetonBet - Betway - CasinoShare - Gamebookers - Grand Monaco - Leisure and Gaming - TellPoker - Villento Las Vegas.
The additions highlight significant growth across both the casino and poker sides of the business, in a year that has seen the company rebrand to bring its networks under the Microgaming umbrella through the Microgaming Progressive Jackpot Network and Microgaming Poker Network.
The company cites its ongoing commitment to games development - the cornerstone of its offer, as playing a significant part in the growth of the business. After announcing its intentions to release four new games per month at the start of the year, the company is on course to reach 60 by December.
Growth in poker stems from Microgaming Poker Network's ability to deliver instant liquidity, by offering guaranteed 24hr action and one of the most aggressive tournament schedules on the web. In the current period of consolidation, Microgaming Poker Network's independent status is also highly valued.
Continued software developments of its mobile solution GameWire and market leading licensing deals for new games such as Mahjong have also played a significant part, allowing operators to tap into emerging markets through localised games or new technologies.
Roger Raatgever, CEO, Microgaming, says, "This news means that millions more players are experiencing our cutting edge software - both through our casino and poker sides of the business.
"Particular highlights include the strengthening of our hand in the Nordic region, as well as the drive towards providing a localised gaming experience for players in Asia - highlighted by our latest licensing deal with Mahjong Mania. Huge credit must go to all our staff for their hard work and a special mention must go to our market leading games development teams who continue to set the benchmarks in our industry."
