The Irish Poker Championships will consist of a series of nationwide events leading up to the All-Ireland Poker Final. There will be local satellites in Ireland as well as throughout the United Kingdom and Europe.
Last year's main event was won by Kieran Walsh, a young business student from County Cork, who took home Euro 150 000. This year's winner will probably receive Euro 200 000.
Buy-in for the final event will be Euro 1 000, it will take place Jan. 6-8 at the Citywest Hotel in Dublin and organisers are planning for a field of some 500 competitors.
