ONGAME - FUTUREBET CO-OPERATION ENDS
Was a lack of "correct and respectful treatment of players" the reason?
Online poker players have complained to the Ongame poker network and industry watchdogs on numerous occasions about their treatment at the sites of Futurebet poker licensees using the network, and it appeared this week that the giant pool of poker room action, which is a member of the standards and self-regulatory body eCommerce and Online Gaming Regulation and Assurance, is doing something about it.
The network is reported to have served a notice of termination on Futurebet on October 5, 2006 after "several discussions with the company" over the past year. Ongame Network will support Futurebet to facilitate "an organised and peaceful transition" which will apparently include helping move players' accounts and funds to another network.
Reading between the lines, the following statement from the network might give a hint at the cause for the parting of the ways, which is not directly referred to: "Ongame Network has strict policies on what we believe is correct and respectful treatment of players. We are committed to the highest standard among our operators and their players. This forces us to sometimes take action toward operators that do not live up to those standards."
Ongame Network has confirmed the end of the relationship and says it works continuously to keep protecting and developing the quality of the network.
InfoPowa asked Futurebet for their comments on this story but as at going to press there had been no response.
