VETERAN MASTER POKER TOURNEY RETURNS
Now in its 15th year, this one has a Euro 2.4 million prize pool
Next month sees the annual return, this year for the fifteenth season, of the Master Classics of Poker. One of Europe's largest international poker tournaments, the competition will run November 3 through 11 at the Holland Casino in Amsterdam.
This year Holland casino is adding at least Euro 64 000 to its sponsorship, taking the prize pool over last year's Euro 2.4 million.
Stars like Marcel Luske, Rob Hollink, Noah Boeken, David Colclough, and Isabelle Mercier have already committed to playing.
The tournament offers seven events ranging in price from Euro 120 to the Euro 5 000 buy-in for the main event. The majority of the events, including the main event starting November 8, are Texas Hold'em games, but there is also one Pot-Limit Omaha event.
Last year, the winner of the Lido Poker Tournament was Thomas Aleksander Middleton, a Norwegian, who took home a very worthwhile paycheck of Euro 528 000. The highest ranking pro was Luske who came in fourth place.
This year the top nine finalists in the main event will not only win their slice of the prize pool, but receive entry into the 2007 World Series of Poker Main Event.
