U.S. PLAYERS BARRED FROM MONEYBOOKERS
No official announcement, but the site says it all
Despite the lack of an official announcement, it appears that the online e-wallet company Moneybookers has turned its back on American players, possible as a consequence of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act which bans U.S. financial transactions to online gambling sites.
Moneybookers is a private UK based provider outside the jurisdiction of American law but says it will comply with US legislation.
U.S. players trying to log in to their accounts this week to make deposits to offshore online gambling sites were blocked, with an accompanying pop-up advising: "US customers can not do business with online gaming sites." Support representatives of the company confirmed that American players were barred with effect from this week.
Other ewallet providers such as Neteller, ewalletXpress, epassporte and Central Coin remain open to US gamblers. ClicktoPay is another provider that currently seems undecided. MyCitadel is no longer accepting US customers for online gambling.
