POKERSTARS CONTINUES TO SOAR

Latest poker stats show increased business

According to the information site Poker Site Scout.com the online poker giant PokerStars.com continues to build increased market share following its decision to continue to offer its services to American players despite the UIGEA (see previous InfoPowa reports)

But despite leaving the US market, former world leader PartyPoker.com continues to feature among the top five online poker sites.
Privately owned PokerStars seems to have taken over PartyPoker's once dominant position with double the players, almost certainly a result of Party's decision to abandon upwards of 75 percent of its business by blocking American players.

10 604 cash players were recorded on PokerStars website Thursday evening - four times the numbers playing on the PartyPoker.com site (2 595). Over the day, Party peaked at a still healthy 6 736 players despite its self-imposed American ban. Daniel Negreanu's Full Tilt Poker, another private company that continues to accept U.S. action was also busy, with almost 6 000 players logged on Thursday evening.
