NEW PRESIDENT FOR MERGED TRIBECA-TAIN
Ahlberg gets the top job and plans to leverage consolidation to gain ground in Europe
When the Scandinavian Tain poker network merged recently with Tribeca Tables (see previous Online-Casinos.com/InfoPowa reports) the managements of both companies had an opportunity to evaluate each other, and this led this week to the appointment of Tain's Erik Ahlberg as president of the merged group.
Making the announcement, Tribeca m.d. for Europe Steve Cook revealed that the board of directors at Tribeca had been unanimous in selecting Ahlberg for the top slot due to his wide poker and management experience in the business. "We are very pleased to welcome Erik into the Tribeca family and the company will utilise his poker industry and management expertise to take Tribeca to the next corporate level," Cook said.
Alderney-licensed Tribeca's portfolio of brands includes many prestigious partners such as Sporting Index, Paddy Power, Blue Sq, Victor Chandler, and Expekt.com. Tribeca also recently announced that they had signed a poker deal with Celtic Football Club. Cook added, "We shall be also launching poker rooms for a number of other professional football and rugby clubs over the next few months".
Ahlberg commented, "Tribeca is the market leader in online poker aggregation. I am extremely excited to be selected by the board. There is now a very narrow spread between the top 3 European poker rooms, and we are the only aggregator.
"I plan to continue to use consolidation as the core strategy to further our dominance. During my time at Tain, I focused on the European markets, and I plan to bring this experience and market knowledge to Tribeca".
