Aruba Poker Classic will have a $2.5 million prize pool
Online poker site UltimateBet.com has announced that the popular Caribbean resort of Aruba will again host this year's UltimateBet Poker Classic for the sixth consecutive year.
"We're bringing the UltimateBet Aruba Poker Classic back to Aruba this September," stated UltimateBet spokesperson George MacLean. "With an estimated $2.5 million prize pool, this year's event promises to be bigger, better and hotter than ever."
Online poker players can win an $8 500 Aruba prize package at UltimateBet.com through a series of freerolls and paid satellites. The prize package includes the $5 500 main event seat and $3 000 for travel and accommodations.
In 2006, Devon Miller captured the title, taking home $774 960 in cash (see previous Online-Casinos.com/InfoPowa report). This year, with an estimated 750 players expected in the tournament, the first place prize is sure to be even larger.
The popular week-long tournament - scheduled for September 23rd through September 30th - gives online poker players the chance to celebrate their successes at the tables with poker's best professionals.
