NEGREANU TO FRONT MOBILE POKER

UK mobile poker provider signs up US ace

I-play, a British company specialising in mobile entertainment products has secured the services of American poker star and author Daniel Negreanu to front its year end launch of a mobile poker game, together with downloadable tuition videos.

With advanced artificial intelligence, the software is reported to be a top notch challenge for players, and has been extensively tested. Negreanu has played against the AI bots and reported that his virtual opponents did "pretty well."

The poker ace gave extensive input in the design and development of the new game and says: "This is excellent software. It has a different look than most of the mobile games I've seen. It's less cartoonish and more realistic."

With facilities such as hand statistics and starting hand requirements, the software also features a tuition or guide function which, when activated brings up a preprogrammed Negreanu to explain what his moves would be in that situation.

"My favorite part is the little display on the bottom that tells you what the nut is," Negreanu said. "When the hand is over, a graphic at the bottom lets you know what the best possible hand was. Many beginners have a problem figuring that out. That alone is a great teaching tool."

Downloadable streaming tuition videos will also be available from I-play for users. A diverse range of over 100 ninety second poker instructional video clips were recorded over three full days at The Venetian in Las Vegas by Negreanu, who wrote the scripts himself, covering most poker situations.

Besides advice for newbies, the series will include multiple videos discussing tournament play, No-Limit Hold'em strategy, tells, bluffs, and more.

The streaming video clips are expected to be released in June with the cell phone game coming out in December.
