ASIA PACIFIC POKER TOUR BACKED BY POKERSTARS

Tournaments will be set in some of the world's most exotic casino locations.

The world's largest online poker site, Isle of Man-based PokerStars.com has announced that it is to sponsor the Asia Pacific Poker Tour commencing with a $2 500 buy-in tournament in Manila, Philippines on August 24 - 26.

From there the Tour will move to Korea with a further $2 500 tournament schedules for Seoul on September 28 - 30.

Next stop will be Sydney, Australia on December 13 - 16, where buy-ins will be boosted to $5 000. Wherever possible the events will be televised.

Further dates and locations, some of them new and exciting, will be announced once planning has been finalised.

The tournaments will be set in some of the world's most lavish casino locations. The Manila event will take place in the Hyatt Hotel, the Seoul tournament will be at the Sheraton Walkerhill, and the Sydney event will be at the Star City Casino.

Starting July 1, PokerStars.com will be running daily qualifying tournaments with buy-ins of $22 that can lead to $5 000 prize packages to the Philippines event.
