NORTH AMERICAN GAMBLING NOW APPROACHING $100 BILLION MARK

Casino City stats show continued growth - 8.2 percent up last year

Casino City's North American Gaming Almanac and CD, released this week by Casino City Press, reports that in 2006 gaming revenue in the U.S. grew 8.2 percent, for a total of $92.68 billion.

The Almanac contains almost 600 pages on the North American gaming market, including market profiles for each state and Canadian province and nearly 1 000 charts and tables. Property rankings are also included, with top properties listed by type of gaming activity and property, and number of gaming positions, machines, table games, and hotel rooms.

Each gaming market profile includes a market overview, net gaming revenue by type, gaming property counts, machine and table game counts and distribution, gaming property profiles by type and by location, property owner profiles, and regulatory bodies.

"The North American Gaming Almanac is now a must-have for anyone seeking to understand the state of the gaming industry today," says Michael Corfman, president and CEO of Casino City Press.

"Users include financial analysts at investment banks, casino operators, gaming analysts at casinos, market research consultants, major industry suppliers, regulators, and libraries and universities. The Almanac helps them develop benchmarks, analyze competitors, monitor industry trends, and gather market data to support their business plan."

Key findings in Casino City's North American Gaming Almanac:

Across the U.S. and Canada:

* Casino and card room gaming accounted for 48 percent of total North American gaming revenue, lotteries for 24 percent, and tribal gaming for almost 22 percent.

* The largest inflation-adjusted growth, an increase of 7.31 percent, was seen in tribal gaming.

* Revenue from lotteries grew by 4.91 percent and casino and card room gaming by 5.56 percent.

* Both charitable gaming and race/sports wagering declined in 2006.

The North American Gaming Almanac CD version includes profiles and statistics for nearly 1 400 gaming properties plus more than 300 annual reports, useful analysis tools, an interactive gaming property map, and other features.
