BIG ONLINE POKER WIN FOR BODOG PLAYER

$120 000 jackpot on new Caribbean Hold'em game

Online poker player MarkW is probably still celebrating following his $120 000 win over the weekend at BodogLife.com, where he hit the jackpot on the new Caribbean Hold'em progressive game.

The Colorado player took home $121,369 after hitting a Royal Flush on the new casino game's progressive jackpot. The prize is shared among BodogLife.com's Caribbean Hold'em and Caribbean Stud poker games with the lucky player taking home the combined payout from both machines.

Caribbean Hold'em poker is a derivative of Caribbean stud and Texas Hold'em poker with a player competing against the house rather than live players. To begin, the dealer for the online casino deals two cards to themselves face down with two cards face up to the players. Just as in Hold'em, there is a three card flop dealt face up in the centre of the table and the player must decide if their five card hand using the three community cards will beat the dealer's hand without seeing the dealer's cards.

The player may then 'call' if they believe they have a strong hand but they may also fold if not. If the player calls, the 'turn' and 'river' cards are both dealt with the dealer and player having to make the best five card hands they can out of the community cards and their own hole cards.

The player wins if their hand beats the dealer's but goes down if their hand doesn't match up.
