Ann Summers adds a white label casino operation to online bingo activities
The British lingerie and adult products group Ann Summers has added an online casino to the Internet bingo operations it launched mid-2007 in a white label deal with St Minver, using Parlay Entertainment software (see previous Online-Casinos.com/InfoPowa report).
The new operation follows the Gibraltar-licensed St Minver white label model and is designed to attract both men and women. However, St Minver's M.D. Leigh Nissim points out that demographics differ over game genres with 75 percent of bingo customers tending to be female, whereas 75 percent of casino customers are more usually male.
Nissim added: "Ann Summers aims to extend its relationship with customers both from a communications and revenue perspective. Gaming provides an ideal vehicle through which this can be achieved as the games provide sticky content and the customer relationship management activities are closely aligned with their product promotions.
"It's a perfect fit; Ann Summers sells more products while making money from gaming. Retailers who have a strong brand and wide distribution like this are benefiting from gaming being a mainstream leisure activity."
Owned by the millionaire Gold brothers, the Ann Summers group has 134 stores throughout the UK and Ireland and a website with over a million unique visitors a month. The group also owns Birmingham City Football Club, retailer Knickerbox and Gold Air International, a corporate jet hire company.
