The success of last year's Asian Poker Classic (see previous Online-Casinos.com/InfoPowa reports) has prompted the introduction of four new major Indian poker tournaments in Mumbai, Bangalore, Delhi and Goa through the newly launched Indian Poker Tour.
Scheduled for autumn 2008, the tour comprises four major tournaments that will attract global poker aces and some of India's best players to do battle for their share of an expected $1 million prize-pool.
This is the first-ever poker tour to be staged in India and promises to make the game a big hit in the world's second most populous nation. With the success of Indian players in last year's Asian Poker Classic, the India Poker Tour (IPT) will spur the development of poker in India in a professional and responsible manner.
The tour kicks off in Mumbai in September and moves on to Bangalore. The third event will take place in Delhi before the Grand Final is held in the beautiful coastal state of Goa.
