O'MALIA APPOINTED CHIEF GAMES OFFICER AT PARTYGAMING

Ex-founder and CEO of Gamebookers has plenty of experience

Party Gaming has given former Gamebookers CEO John O'Malia the new title of chief games officer. A former City trader, O'Malia previously headed Gamebookers, an Antigua-based, Bulgarian-run sports betting group, prior to its acquisition by Party Gaming in late 2006 for Euro 102 million.

O'Malia has been running sports betting companies since 2001. He spearheaded the development of BetBug.com with 1X Inc, and then engineered the purchase of BetBug and Gamebookers.com in 2005 as CEO of Trident Gaming plc.

Under O'Malia's stewardship Trident transformed and grew the Gamebookers business through aggressive online and offline marketing, using a combination of guerilla marketing and classic traffic-building and brand-building campaigns. After a series of smaller sports sponsorship campaigns, Gamebookers launched its shirt-sponsorship deal with Nantes FC in August 2006, at approximately the same time that Gamebookers itself was acquired by PartyGaming.
