PKR ONLINE POKER OVERTAKES LADBROKES AND BETFAIR
Pokerscout statistics indicate that poker website is now 17th largest in the online industry
3D online poker room PKR.com has leapfrogged both Betfair Poker and Ladbrokes Poker in action, according to new statistics from the independent online poker information site Pokerscout.com, which places PKR 17th in the business.
Pokerscout.com has been tracking PKR.com's climb since their inclusion in December, 2007. With a successful marketing campaign, including both terrestrial and digital television channels, PKR.com's real money player base has expanded remarkably fast since the site's launch in late 2006.
Marketing Director Simon Prodger said: "PKR.com has experienced incredible growth since our launch in August, 2006. In just 18 months, we've become a very competitive site, with 10 000 concurrent players in action at peak time. To have more traffic than sites like Betfair and Ladbrokes is a tremendous achievement, and we are thankful for the players for taking us to this level."
PKR.com is a stand-alone site which has stayed completely out of the US online poker market. It is currently ranked 5th amongst other stand-alone, non-US poker sites.
