NORSKE TIPPING PROFITS UP
State monopoly rakes in an extra 8 percent
The attraction of a state monopolised revenue stream was apparent this week when Norway's state-owned Norse Tipping reported $2 billion in 2007 revenues, driving an eight percent increase in annual profit to $618 million.
Revenue from interactive gaming rose 48 percent to $138.6 million
Norske Tipping contributed $250 million to the Ministry of Culture and Church Affairs, $43.8 million to Ministry of Health and Care Services and $2.4 million toward problem gambling treatment services.
