SPORTECH GETS A NEW ONLINE FOOTBALL POOLS CHIEF
Muirhead takes on Managing Director responsibilities
The online football pool activities of UK betting group Sportech plc are now the responsibility of Will Muirhead, who has been appointed managing director of Footballpools.com and takes up a directorship on the main board of directors, according to an announcement from the company this week.
Muirhead will oversee the relaunch of Sportech's The New Football Pools scheduled for next (August) month.
The experienced Internet executive will be responsible for developing Sportech's existing online football products, building new gaming products, acquiring content businesses, and forming key strategic relationships to further the development of the online business.
Prior to joining Sportech Muirhead founded and ran two successful new media initiatives. In 2006 he launched Tixdaq, which is now the leading provider of data to the live music industry and its consumer facing arm, Tixdaq.com, is the UK's leading event ticket price comparison service. Prior to that, he founded SportEV, a company that devised and implemented strategies and solutions for the worlds leading football rights holders including, FIFA, UEFA, Premier League and Serie A.
SportEV was acquired by the Press Association in 2005 and currently delivers Premier League video to online and mobile entities in 110 territories worldwide.
