NETPLAYTV LAUNCHES LIVE ROULETTE
Interactive television interest boosted
AIM-listed NetPlay TV plc launched its Live Roulette offering on Freesat TV this week, using the free digital satellite television service launched in May 2008 to access millions of interactive television viewers.
The show will be broadcast on Channel 851, a dedicated channel for Live Roulette, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The channel will go live on the Freesat platform from this week. Live Roulette is a live TV roulette show whereby viewers can watch the show on TV and place bets by going online to Live Roulette.com or calling a 0871 telephone number.
Freesat is a joint venture between the BBC and ITV, and reaches 98 percent of UK households through over 80 free digital channels - television, radio, interactive plus high definition (HD) services. The service has no subscription and no contract; all that is required to receive it is a one-off payment for equipment. Freesat's channel line-up will grow each month, with up to 200 channels on air by the end of the year.
Martin Higginson, Chairman and Chief Executive of NetPlay TV plc, said: "We are very excited to launch Live Roulette on Freesat. This is yet another step for NetPlay TV to accelerate our growing player base and reach yet more viewers. We are looking forward to a long and fruitful partnership with Freesat."
