BULGARIAN ONLINE POKER SITE FOR BWIN

Fully customised site features localised betting options

The Vienna listed online gambling group Bwin has continued its aggressive expansion into European online poker using the subsidiary Ongame platform by launching a Bulgarian language and full localised website.

"We are delighted to have coloured one of the last blank areas of the European Union in with Bwin colors," said Kevin O'Neal, Bwin Poker press officer in commenting on the move.

"Bulgarian customers have already been able to enjoy our products, only so far everything was in a foreign language for them. Now that the full customisation for Bulgaria is completed, we are looking forward to appealing to a broader audience in this promising market," he added.

The new site, which was opened at the beginning of October is fully localised in terms of language, betting options, local payment partners and editorial content, and brings Bwin Poker's international offering up to 22 different languages.

World economic troubles notwithstanding, the industry's poker sector has been in dynamic mode over the past 10 days, with Sportech's Littlewoods poker site re-launching; PKR launching its on-demand Internet poker webcast; Mansion switching it's poker enterprise from Ongame to the iPoker network; the launch of Ongame's new P5 poker engine; the continued growth of Playtech's sally into the Italian poker market; Gutshot moving from Microgaming to Cake; the imminent launch of Castle Tech's new poker software.... and no slackening in the numerous big-money tournaments available on several poker websites, with record pots reported.

Strong growth is predicted in the Eastern European online sector in the next five years at an average rate of more than 25 percent in Croatia, more than 40 percent in Slovakia and the Czech Republic and more than 60 percent in Poland, according to recent Global Betting and Gaming Consultants numbers.

The company forecasts that Polish online gross gambling revenues will reach more than US$ 120 million in 2012, followed by Slovakia and the Czech Republic at more than US$ 35 million and Croatia at one third of Slovak online gambling revenues (US$ 13 million).
