July 6, 2009 is very important date for the online gambling sector internationally but especially in the USA. On that day a U.S. 3rd Circuit Court of Appeals is scheduled to render a decision in a case filed by The Interactive Media Entertainment & Gaming Association against the US Justice Department hopefully to have the ban on online gambling in the USA declared "Unconstitutional".

iMEGA President, Joe Brennan, Jr. was recently interview by Jenny Woo an online gambling journalist of some note from Gambling 911. He was asked questions as to the status of the case and his view on the possible outcome. Jenny said, "It's been reported that the judge will hear this matter in July then render a decision some time thereafter." what is the status of your appeal.

Mr.Brennan responded,"Two things may happen at that time; one, there may be just a decision issued based on the merits of the case by the judges or they may decide on that they want to hear all oral arguments. We'll not know exactly which it's going to be until about 10 days out from that because that's the required notice that the court is allowed to give you for this. So we're kind of sitting on the edge right now. Either way, we feel pretty good about things." adding, " We've seen a lot of criticism of our initial brief."

When asked where the criticism was coming in from Mr.Brennan said, "It was from all over the industry. Everything from other people in the legal community, other people in the gaming community - it came from all corners. The thing is, you could address yourself responding to the criticism. You know - iMEGA, we have a limit on our resources here both in time and money and the people who are committed to it. There's only so much bandwidth that you have."

Mr.Brennan also said, "We feel like the case has gotten really strong. I'm really anxious about July 6th. We feel confident but I'd be lying if I didn't say that I feel a little on edge."
