World champion poker player signs a strong partner - Playboy
Playboy Enterprises and the company of former world poker champion Chris Moneymaker,
Moneymaker Gaming have teamed up to create a co- branded poker product.
Moneymaker, who became an overnight sensation after turning $40 into $2.5 million
at the World Series of Poker, launched Moneymaker Gaming earlier this year to
make and market an upmarket collection of poker tools that includes poker chips,
poker chip sets, poker tables, poker collectibles, and accessories.
"Poker is a logical brand extension for Playboy, and Moneymaker Gaming
is a natural partner," says Sarah Haney, Director of Entertainment Licensing
for Playboy. "Poker legend Chris Moneymaker becoming an overnight success
reflects the aspirational Playboy lifestyle."
Moneymaker Gaming will showcase the products at the WSOP Lifestyle Show this
week and MAGIC Las Vegas in August 2005.
The initial product line will include a signature poker chip set and high-end
poker table, retailing at PlayboyStore.com, MoneymakerGaming.com, and the Playboy
Concept Boutique, Las Vegas.
Pokerware is apparently the "in" thing at WSOP this year, with all
manner of memorabilia available in Vegas.
